I am a mom to 3 kids and an AirForce wife. When I'm not at my sewing machine, I can usually be found running outside.

I started sewing in 2012, when my daughter wanted a very specific duvet for her birthday. It was cheaper and quicker to buy a sewing machine and learn to make it myself! (And lets be honest - these were before the days of Pinterest and Etsy shopping!)

I only sewed upholstery and little things here and there until my 3rd child was born. I wanted her babyhood and toddler years to be extra special after the rough time we had with the first daughter having cancer and chemo throughout her entire toddler and preschool years. 

Once my older daughter was in middle school it became increasingly difficult to find teen friendly clothing in her small size. That led to me sewing all of her fancy clothes (thankfully I could spend weeks on one dress because she wore uniforms to school!) I also started sewing “holiday” dresses for the little one. Both girls get to be the primary beneficiaries from my sewing, so when my son sees a fabric delivery and claims a fabric meant as a gift for my brother- well my boy gets the sweater. I will forever remember the “reindeer” sweater that convinced him I could make “regular” clothes too. 

Unfortunately for me, that’s when the nagging started. “Mom you should start a business...”. I really enjoyed gifting all the items I was making. Over the last few years my skills have really improved to where I test sew patterns for other companies and my girls closets are overflowing with beautiful things waiting to be worn. It seems as if I now create faster than they can be worn, which is extremely evident as the littlest one has enough that her laundry basket overflows before she runs out of clean items. 

It is here that 3 Lavender Lane is born. Each pattern and fabric is hand picked and matched with help and inspiration from the girls. So when you buy a piece of clothing from me, you have bought a piece that has the love of all 3 of us hand stitched in. And if you wonder about the boys in my life- well this website has been created by my oldest, with hours less work than I would have had to put in and with results better than I could have done. And my husband, well he’s just happy I don’t leave him out and he’s finally getting some shirts that are sewn perfectly to his comfort. 

So that’s a bit about 3 Lavender Lane and the inspiration behind this tiny operation. I hope that you get the same joy from seeing your little ones dressed in items from us as I have had creating and sewing each piece with my girls.
